Day five
And on the fifth day... it's Sabrina's birthdayyy! We sang at breakfast, it was cool. :) And Wickford, action day! Three Churches within a couple of hours, that's gotta be a record for me. St Andrews was where I woke up, we ate at Christchurch, and then we had our meetings and small groups at New Life. Some of us headed out towards the travelling community, we went off in our minibuses and spent some time with the people there. We talked to them, did some work litter-picking along the road, and we took the gear so some of us played football with the children, painted their faces, braided their hair, and they all seemed to love it. We promoted the family fun day, invited them all to come along, check it out, and we got pretty positive responses. We also went to the Memorial Park, where we'll be running tomorrow's fun day, and took the equipment again, painted some faces and braided some hair, just kinda bonded with the local people a bit. Most people could remember last year's fun day, in coordinance with Hope 08, and they were looking forward to it, which was great. We had almost a practice fun day, and everything seemed to run smoothly, it was great! :) Tons of people said they're gonna be coming along tomorrow, so we're looking forward to that. We ate back at Christchurch, and I ate so much I swear I was about to explode! There was so much food, it was great! :) We then headed back to Memorial Park, and prayed, sang, and prayer walked the site, and people got words about people they were going to meet tomorrow, people to look out for, and just words of encouragement. It was all pretty cool. Some enterainment back at Christchurch, movies and stuff, then it's back here to St Andrews to sleep, and sleep is always good. Gotta be ready to wake up early tomorrow! :) x
Day four
Day fourrrrr, the last day of the residential at the YWAM cenre in Harpenden! Bright and early again, in time for the final radio and dance workshops. Lots of Healing on the Streets stuff today, loads of practical stuff, we prayed for each other, for healing in each other, and we saw some of us healed! This afternoon, a number of us went into Luton town, put out some chairs, put some music on and raised a banner saying "Healing". We fell to our knees in the middle of this busy street, praying and feeling the presence of God, and we attracted rather a lot of attention. When we got up, people were looking over at us, and we wandered around the area. Some people came up to us, talked to us, and asked for healing, for prayer, and some of us went around the area talking to the local people. asking if they had anything they needed healing for. We saw some amazing things in Luton, we saw legs growing, and bruises fading right in front of us, it was awesome! We had some amazing conversations with people, it was just generally pretty great, good preperation for the healing on the famly fun days, as there's gonna be healing stations at each location. We then left Luton, and after packing up the lorry and the van in Harpenden, we then set off in our minibuses to Wickford, to settle in St Andrews, where the girls sleeping arrangements required a master at Tetris to figure out! Most of us headed for the takeaway, chip shop, Indian or Chinese, that finished off our night pretty well. They do nice chips here in Wickford. :) Anywayy, it's late, I need to sleep now, byee. x
Day three
Day three, and it's time for workshops again. In the radio workshop, we got taught how to use the equipment to record and edit interviews and voice clips, which sent me and Megan off later in the day to interview a few people about their potential superhero powers. The morning sessions were interesting, but a lot of the day was about the practical elements of React, of running the family fun days in the various towns. Marquee building was fun.. I think I've put one of those marquees up more than enough times by now, we had the same ones last year, as well as at Spree and Spree in the Borders. Inflatables were pretty simple, and the roadshow was about MCing, radio, football and balloon modelling, and a number of members of each team volunteered to do one each. Tonight's session was from a guy called Mark, who came to talk to us about Healing On The Streets, (HOTS). This is where they quite literally heal people on the streets, putting chairs out and a sign advertsising healing, and they've seen so much done, so many miracles through this. We saw, in front of us, someone's leg grow, and people being healed, it was amazing. Definitely inspiring, and a lot of the emphasis is on healing, people are really being called towards healing this year, and we're going out to do some of our own Healing On The Streets. It's gonna be awesome! Oh, and we got commisioned, each small group team got prayed for seperatley, along with each of the locations. People got words of knowledge about the places, and words for the teams and the team members, it was great. It's like everyon can tell that we're gonna be doing some amazing stuff over the next week, and one of the really cool things was that when we looked at the aerial photographs of each location, people could see the word "Hope" in the trees, in the buildings, the shadows, the letters spelt out in the images, which, yeah, it really gave us hope for this week. Anyway, I'll keep updating, though my internet access isn't exactly constant.. but I'll blog when I can. Anyway, I need to be awake for tomorrow.. Nightt. :) xx
Day two
The first full day of React, and we started bright and early, with radio and dance workshops. All the talks have been interesting and inspiring, I've got pages and pages of notes and Bible references that are gonna be useful to read through. We ran through the training for the crowd attractions, hair braiding, face painting and balloon modelling, which went really well. The evening session was all about The Holy Spirit, about how the in Trinity, each component is equal to the other, God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are all interchangable, and one and the same. The Holy Spirit was working in loads of people tonight. People were being refreshed in the Spirit and totally fired up for God. Some people got filled with the Holy Spirit for the first time, and that was pretty amazing. It was just an amazing session, and it gave us all the stength we need to get through this next week. But I think sleep is in order.. night. :) x

it's late
An evening of worship and being mesmerised by this cool fire-y light thing, good times. :)
It's all about getting right with God, confessing our sins before God.. I thought it was dead good.
Loads of prayer, and a few people kinda recomitted their life to God earlier, all in all a good night!
The Dark Is Rising was the movie choice, great movie, but I was kinda half asleep through it.. haha.
Now it's off to bed, finally! I've been up since 5.45 am! Although I chose to sleep in the top bunk, I'm seriously considering the dire consequences of this choice.. and wondering whether I should put some blankets on the floor just in case. :P
Nah, it'll be fine, I hope! Mmm, sleep time now.. I'll blog tomorrow, if I make it, or if I can even wake up..
yawn.

Day One
So, it's around 10 and i'm already on my second train of the day, only one more to go!
I've spent the last half hour playing Rollercoaster Tycoon, much to the amusement of the person sat next to me. :)
I can't believe it's 24th July already! React is upon us! It doesn't really feel like it is though, I don't think it's sunk in yet! But I can't wait to get there, meet the team, and just generally get started.
If it's anything like last year then the next ten days are gonna be an adventure! I don't think I've even heard of most of the places we're going to.. haha. They're all down south, which isn't somewhere I'm very familiar with. Only about half an hour left on the train, then I'm on a train to Harpenden, then I'll be there!
I really can't wait, I'm sat on a train grinning in excitement. Anyway, I don't wanna drain the battery of my laptop! I'll update later, whenever I get the chance. Ciao for now!
